2013 Season Outline:

  • May 11-12 Team Tryouts
  • May 28 Practices start (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
  • June 14-16 Tournament - Celebrate Shoreline Soccer Classic
  • July 26-28 Tournament - Crossfire Select Cup
  • August 23-25 Tournament - Starfire Xtreme Cup
  • Sept 7 - Nov 23 North Puget Sound League, Division 1
  • Nov 29 - Dec 1 Tournament - Cranberry Cup
  • Dec 14 - Feb 2 State Cup

 

2013 Preliminary Estimated Costs per Player:

  • $600 - Club fees, tournaments, league, State Cup, team admin, etc.
  • $250 - Uniform costs (returning players will reuse most of their equipment)
  • The team currently does not offer scholarships

Preliminary 2013 Season Practice Plan:

June  - August (tournament season)

Focus on individual ball handling & individual tactics thru many touches every practice, and endurance through constant movement.

  • Tuesday – Technical Skills
    • Warm-up: Six technical moves; stretching
    • Individual: Practice key moves – step over, scissors, Cruyff
    • Small sided: max 4 per group, key moves under pressure
    • Expanded small-sided: 4v4
  • Thursday – Technique: passing, receiving, dribbling, turning, shielding, shooting, tackling, crossing, heading
    • Warm-up: Six technical moves different than Tuesday; stretching
    • Small sided: max 4 per group, increasing pressure
    • Expanded small-sided: 4v4, scoring primarily by making moves related to technique (e.g. dribbling across end line, 3 consecutive passes)
    • Match: 4v4 preferred, or up to 8v8, small or large goals, target and flank players as necessary

 

September – November (league)

Focus on small-sided games, small group tactics, and speed.

  • Tuesday and Thursday – Attacking and Defending Principles
    • Technical Warm-up: individual or 1v1; stretching
    • Small sided: max 4 per group
    • Expanded small sided: 4v4, small or large goals, target and flank players as necessary
    • Match: 8v8, preferred formation: GK-2-3-2

 

December – February (state cup)

Focus on full field game tactics (principles of play).

  • Tuesday and Thursday – Principles of Play - Attack and Defense
    • Technical Warm-up: individual or 1v1; stretching
    • Small sided: max 4 per group
    • Expanded small sided: 4v4, small or large goals, target and flank players as necessary
    • Match: 8v8, preferred formation: GK-2-3-2
